Before you start using the LESSONNOW Website/App to book your driving lessons, it’s important to understand what you’re agreeing to. These Terms and Conditions protect both you and the platform and explain the relationship between all parties involved.
Who You’re Booking WithWhile LESSONNOW offers a smooth online experience for finding and booking driving lessons, it’s important to know:
• LESSONNOW is not your driving instructor.
• We act only as an agent for independent, third-party driving instructors.
• When you book a lesson through the platform, you’re entering into a direct agreement with the instructor, not with LESSONNOW itself.
We facilitate the booking and process the payment, but we do not provide driving tuition.
Updates to These Terms
• From time to time, these terms may be updated or revised.
• Any changes made will be published directly on the LESSONNOW Website/App.
• All updates are effective immediately, so it’s your responsibility to review the terms regularly, especially if you book lessons frequently.
If you need assistance or have a question, full company and contact details are listed in Paragraph 3 of the Terms and Conditions.
This section will typically include:
• Company name and registration details
• Business address
• Email and phone contact information
Make sure to refer there if you need customer support or wish to raise a concern.
• To change or cancel a scheduled lesson, see Paragraph 8.
• You must provide at least 48 hours’ notice before the scheduled lesson time.
• Failing to give proper notice could mean:
• Losing your lesson credit
• Being charged a cancellation fee
• Not being eligible for a refund
Tip: Always check your schedule before confirming a booking, and notify LESSONNOW as early as possible if plans change.
Modifying or Cancelling Bookings
• If you decide to stop using LESSONNOW services or cancel future bookings, Paragraph 11 explains how to terminate the agreement.
• You’ll need to follow the proper procedure outlined there, especially if you’ve purchased a lesson package or PassProtect add-on.
• Paragraph 15 outlines what LESSONNOW is and isn’t responsible for.
• As an agent, LESSONNOW is not liable for things like:
• Instructor behaviour or teaching style
• Quality of instruction
• Pupil performance or test results
• Vehicle availability or maintenance issues
• Our responsibility is limited to:
• Managing the booking process
• Processing payments
• Handling platform-related technical issues
• Nothing in these terms affects your legal (statutory) consumer rights under UK law.
• This includes your right to:
• Receive services of reasonable quality
• Request refunds under certain conditions
• Be treated fairly in your dealings with LESSONNOW and instructors
We recommend reading these rights on the UK Government website or Citizens Advice if you want more detail.
• Read all sections of the Terms & Conditions carefully before booking.
• Make sure you understand:
• Who you’re paying
• How cancellations work
• What to do in case of disputes
• If you’re unsure about anything, contact LESSONNOW support before continuing.
Before using LESSONNOW’s website or mobile app to book driving lessons, it’s important to understand the legal framework that governs your use of the platform. Here’s a breakdown of what these terms mean and why they matter.
Scope of These Terms
This section defines what these terms cover:
• They apply to all use of the LESSONNOW website and mobile app, collectively referred to as the “Website/App”.
• When you use our Website/App to book driving lessons, you’re using what we call our “Website/App Services.”
• These services include booking, payment processing, and access to features, content, and tools.
• These terms ensure you understand how to use the platform responsibly and what to expect from us.
Simply put: These terms explain how you can use LESSONNOW, what you’re responsible for, and what we promise to provide.
Terms” — LESSONNOW User Agreement
These terms form part of a larger Agreement between you and LESSONNOW LIMITED. That agreement also includes:
• Our Privacy Notice
• Our Cookie Policy
Together, these documents explain:
• Who we are
• What we offer
• How you and we can change or end the agreement
• What happens if there’s a problem
• How your personal data is used
Note: It’s your responsibility to read and understand these terms before using the Website/App.
The Agreement between you and LESSONNOW is only for using our Website/App.
This includes:
• Enabling you to find and book driving instructors
• Processing your payments for lessons
• Giving you access to learning resources or support
You’re not paying LESSONNOW for the lesson itself — you’re paying through us to the instructor, and we act as a booking and payment facilitator.
By using our platform, you are legally agreeing to the following:
• You accept and agree to these terms (and all updates we may publish)
• You agree to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, including how your data may be collected or used
• If you do not accept any part of this Agreement, you must not use the Website/App
In simple terms: Just by using our platform (even browsing or making an account), you’re agreeing to follow these terms and policies.
Acceptance of This Agreement
Here’s one of the most important points:
• When you book a driving lesson through LESSONNOW, your actual agreement for tuition is directly with the driving instructor—not LESSONNOW.
• The instructor is an independent third party, responsible for:
• Delivering the lesson
• Showing up on time
• Maintaining the vehicle
• Managing cancellations or reschedules (in line with LESSONNOW policy)
LESSONNOW does not employ driving instructors, and is not liable for how they teach or deliver the lesson.
Our Agreement With You (the User)
Understanding this section is key because:
• It defines who is responsible for what
• It ensures transparency in how you interact with both LESSONNOW and instructors
• It gives you clarity in the event of disputes, refunds, or technical problems

At Lessonnow, our goal is to make your learning experience seamless and supportive. To do this, we work closely with your instructor and serve as the representative and facilitator on their behalf.
Representing Your Instructor
While your driving instructor is the one who delivers your lessons, they do so as a self-employed franchisee of Lessonnow Limited. This means:
• Your instructor runs their own independent driving tuition business
• They choose how to teach and manage their lesson delivery
• Lessonnow helps connect you with them and supports the administrative, technical, and communication side of your experience
What We Do for You:
We support your learning journey by:
• Handling bookings, lesson scheduling, and updates
• Acting as a point of contact for general inquiries or concerns
• Making sure you get access to relevant course materials, updates, or documentation
Goal: You focus on learning; we handle the logistics.
Lessonnow acts as an agent on behalf of your instructor when it comes to the use of our Website/App. This means we help with:

• Book lessons or intensive driving packages with your instructor
• Manage your lesson schedule via the app or website

Payment Handling
We process your payments on behalf of your instructor by:
• Accepting secure payments via the app/website
• Managing financial transactions
• Providing invoices, receipts, or payment confirmations
Note: While we handle the booking and payments, your instructor is ultimately responsible for delivering the lessons and any tuition-related outcomes.
Summary
• Your contract for tuition is with your instructor.
• Lessonnow acts as the agent and support platform to make things easier for both you and your instructor.
• We make sure your booking, communication, and payment experiences are efficient and professional — while your instructor focuses on teaching.
At Lessonnow, our Website and App are built to make your driving journey smooth—from finding a local instructor to booking lessons and managing payments. Below is a detailed breakdown of how our services work, your responsibilities, and what to expect when using our platform.
What We Provide
When you use the Lessonnow Website or App, we help you:
• Find and compare qualified driving instructors in your area
• View their availability, lesson types, and pricing
• Book lessons or intensive courses suited to your needs
We serve as a facilitator to help you find the right instructor—personalized to your preferences and schedule.
Responsibility for Lessons & Tests
It’s important to understand that:
• All instructors on our platform operate independently
• The actual driving lessons are under a separate agreement between you and the instructor
• You must directly agree with your instructor on:
• Lesson times and locations
• Lesson structure and goals
• Any mock or practical driving tests
Lessonnow is not responsible for the content, timing, or outcome of your tuition.
To use our services, you must meet the following criteria:
Age Requirement
• Minimum age is 17, or 16 if receiving the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
Licence Requirements
You must hold one of the following:
• A valid UK provisional driving licence
• A full UK driving licence
• A valid overseas driving licence that permits you to drive in the UK
Legal Entitlement to Drive
• You must be legally permitted to drive in the UK
• This includes complying with all road laws, DVSA requirements, and licence conditions
Presenting Your Driving Licence
Before your first lesson:
• You must show your valid driving licence to your instructor
• Lessonnow may request these details in advance to verify your eligibility
Keep Your Information Up to Date
If there are any changes to your driving status, you must inform your instructor immediately. This includes:
• Losing your licence
• Having your licence suspended or revoked
• Any legal issues affecting your ability to take lessons
Failure to do so could result in lessons being cancelled without a refund.
Lessonnow or your instructor may ask for specific documents or information (like proof of licence or ID). If you:
• Fail to provide this in a reasonable time, or
• Provide incomplete or incorrect details
…we may:
• Cancel your agreement (see Paragraph 12), or
• Charge a reasonable admin fee to fix the issue
We are not responsible for delays or problems caused by missing or incorrect info.
Delays Outside Our Control
If our services are disrupted due to events beyond our control (e.g., technical failures, emergencies, or instructor issues), we will:
• Let you know as soon as possible
• Do our best to reduce the impact
We are not liable for delays in these situations. However, if the disruption causes serious issues, you may request a refund for any undelivered prepaid lessons.
We may need to pause Website/App services for the following reasons:
Technical Maintenance
To fix bugs, improve performance, or introduce new features
Legal or Regulatory Changes
To comply with new laws or official guidance
Requested Changes
To apply updates or changes you’ve requested, such as account info corrections or profile updates
Why We Might Suspend Services
We’ll always try to give you advance notice if we pause the services—unless it’s an emergency.
If the suspension lasts more than 30 days, you may:
• Choose to end this agreement
• Request a refund for any undelivered prepaid lessons
If You Don’t Pay on Time
If you:
• Miss a payment
• Fail to resolve the issue within 14 days of our reminder
…we reserve the right to pause your account and lesson access. This means:
• You cannot book or attend lessons until payment is made
• No tuition will be delivered until your balance is cleared
Using the Lessonnow platform gives you access to:
• Trusted, local driving instructors
• Easy booking and payment systems
• Transparent service terms
However, you’re still entering a direct learning agreement with your instructor, and your ability to use the platform depends on accurate information, timely payment, and legal driving status.
Fees
The word “Fees” refers to the total amount you agree to pre-pay for your driving lessons. These Fees are collected by Lessonnow acting as an agent for your instructor.
• Fees are shown in British Pounds (£).
• The exact price will be clearly displayed during your booking on our Website or App.
• In some cases, additional Fees might apply — please see Paragraph 3 for more details.
Topping Up Your Account
• You can add more money to your account at any time to book extra lessons.
• If you have prepaid for lessons you haven’t used yet, you may request a refund.
• Refunds may be subject to cancellation fees, so please check Paragraphs 2 and 3 for the full refund and cancellation policy.
Minimum Number of Lessons
During booking, you might be required to prepay for a minimum number of lessons. This helps ensure you receive consistent instruction and steady progress.
Booking Fee
Your payment includes a booking fee that covers administrative costs related to managing your lesson bookings.
• The booking fee amount will be shown to you before payment for your initial lessons and any subsequent top-ups.
Payment Method
• Payments must be made through the approved payment methods listed on our Website/App.
• These methods may change from time to time.
• We do not accept payments outside our designated system, including direct payments to your instructor.
• Lessonnow is not responsible for any payments made outside of our platform (see Paragraph 5.10).
• All payments are processed through a trusted third-party payment provider, which might change occasionally.
• You will be informed which provider is currently handling payments when you enter your payment details.
• Please review their terms and conditions before completing your payment.
• By paying, you confirm that you own the payment card or have explicit permission to use it.
Payment Data Security
• Lessonnow does not store or process your payment card information.
• All payment details are handled securely by the third-party payment platform in accordance with their privacy and security policies.
When Payment Is Due
• To confirm your lesson booking, your full payment must be received at least 48 hours before the lesson’s scheduled start time.
• This allows us and your instructor to properly manage schedules and availability.
Pricing Errors
• If a price is listed incorrectly due to a mistake, and the correct price is higher, we will contact you before confirming the booking to get your approval.
• If we accidentally process a booking with an obvious pricing error that you should reasonably notice, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and refund any prepaid money for lessons not yet taken.
• We will notify you promptly in such cases.
Payments Made Outside Our Platform
• Please only make lesson payments through Lessonnow’s official booking and payment system.
• We do not take responsibility for any payments made directly to instructors or other third parties.
• Paying outside our platform means you may lose protections such as refunds, customer support, and secure transaction processing.
By using Lessonnow, you agree to follow the payment terms laid out here, ensuring a smooth booking experience with transparent pricing, secure payment processing, and clear refund policies.
Price Validity
• The price you pay for pre-booked lessons is fixed based on the rate at the time your booking is confirmed.
• This price is guaranteed for 1 month from the confirmation date.
• If you have any unused lessons remaining after 6 months, and the lesson prices have increased in the meantime, you will be required to pay the difference between your original lesson price and the new rate when you use those lessons.
Adjustments to Pre-Paid Amounts
In some situations, changes to your prepaid balance may be necessary. These include:
Moving to a New Postcode Area
• If you move to a different area and need to switch instructors because your current instructor does not work in your new location, differences in hourly rates will apply.
• If your new instructor charges more, you will need to pay the extra amount.
• If they charge less, you will receive a refund for the difference.
Switching Instructors Within the Same Postcode Area
• If you change instructors but stay within the same postcode area, rate differences will also apply.
• You pay the difference if the new instructor’s rate is higher.
• You get a refund if it is lower.
Additional Fees for Certain Instructors
• Some instructors may charge extra fees for special services, such as tuition in automatic vehicles or specialized training.
• If your new instructor requires such a fee, you must pay it on top of your prepaid amount.
• It is important to review all instructor fees before switching to avoid surprises.
Upgrading from Trainee to Qualified Instructor
• If you start lessons with a trainee instructor and later switch to a fully qualified instructor, you will need to pay the difference in hourly rates between the two.
• This reflects the higher qualifications and experience of the fully qualified instructor.
These policies ensure transparency and fairness when lesson prices or instructors change, helping you understand any additional costs or refunds involved in your learning journey.
Special Offers
• From time to time, we provide special offers and discounts for both new and existing learners.
• These promotions aim to add value and encourage continued use of our driving tuition services.
• Each special offer will come with specific terms and conditions that will be clearly communicated at the time of the promotion.
• We reserve the right to introduce, change, or withdraw any offer at any time without prior notice. Changes may be influenced by demand, availability, or other business considerations.
• Offers are subject to availability, so we encourage learners to take advantage of them promptly.
Introductory Offers
• Introductory offers are available only to new learners who have never previously booked lessons with LESSONNOW.
• These offers apply only to the first booking made by a new learner and cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.
• Introductory offers are non-transferable and intended solely for the new learner using our services.
• We encourage new pupils to take advantage of these introductory deals as they begin their learning journey with us.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel a driving lesson, please give your instructor at least 48 hours’ notice before the scheduled lesson time. This notice period allows your instructor to adjust their schedule and offer the slot to other students.
• Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the lesson may incur a cancellation fee or result in the forfeit of the lesson fee, depending on your instructor’s policy.
• To cancel, contact your instructor directly using their preferred communication method.
• If you cannot reach your instructor, you may also cancel lessons through our Website/App, provided you give 48 hours’ notice.
• Our Pupil Service Team is available to help via Live Chat if you need assistance.
• Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Late Cancellation or No-Show
If you fail to provide at least 48 hours’ notice before the lesson start time, you will be charged the full lesson fee. This does not affect your statutory rights to cancel the Agreement within the 7-day cooling-off period (see Paragraph 11.3).
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) requires a minimum of three clear working days’ notice to cancel a driving test. Failure to do so may result in losing your DVSA test fee. Additionally, if your instructor believes you are not ready and advises cancellation within this period, you may also forfeit your test fee.
If Your Instructor Cancels a Lesson
If your instructor cancels a lesson, they will try to reschedule it with you. If rescheduling does not occur, you can:
• Contact your instructor directly, or
• Reschedule the lesson via our Website/App.
If you experience any problems, please reach out to us through Live Chat for support.
Replacement Instructors
Occasionally, your instructor may arrange for a replacement instructor to provide your lesson. You will be informed of the replacement instructor’s name in advance. If you do not wish to take the lesson with the replacement instructor, please notify your main instructor so alternative arrangements can be made.
Changes Made by Us
There may be times when we need to change or cancel a booking. In such cases, we will inform you promptly and make every effort to re-book your lessons at the earliest convenient time.
Refunds
Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Section affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Your legal rights for refunds and cancellations remain protected by applicable consumer protection laws.
You may request a full refund for any pre-paid driving tuition services that you have not yet used. Refund requests can be made conveniently via our Website or App, subject to the following conditions:
• Eligibility for Refunds: Refunds are not available for lessons already completed or taken, including any associated booking fees.
• Cancellation Policy: If you cancel within 48 hours before a scheduled lesson, you will forfeit your right to a refund for that lesson and any booking fees paid.
• Method of Refund: We will refund payments using the original payment method wherever possible. If this is not feasible, we may issue refunds via an alternative method deemed appropriate.
• Verification for Compliance: To comply with the Money Laundering Regulations 2007, we may ask for additional identity verification. This information is used solely to meet regulatory requirements for card payment processing.
• Processing Time: Refunds may take up to 10 working days to process and appear in your account. We appreciate your patience during this period.
• Partial Block Booking Refunds: If you booked lessons in a block and request a refund for unused lessons, refunds will be calculated pro rata. However, if the block booking included a discount requiring a minimum number of lessons, any lessons already taken may be charged at the standard, non-discounted rate if the minimum was not met.
• Promotional Offers: For promotional offers (e.g., “buy one, get one free”), once the first lesson is taken, you will no longer be eligible for any refund related to that offer.
Direct Payments to Instructors
If you made any payments directly to your instructor outside our Website/App, please contact your instructor directly about refunds. We do not take responsibility for refunds related to such direct transactions (see Paragraph 5.10).
Our Rights to Make Changes
Changes to These Terms
We may update or amend the terms of this Agreement at any time. If we make changes, the revised terms will be published on our Website and App. For significant changes, we will notify you through appropriate communication methods (e.g., email or in-app alerts).
By continuing to use our Website/App after these changes are posted, you are confirming your acceptance of the updated Agreement.
We recommend printing or saving a copy of this Agreement for your own records.
We reserve the right to change or cancel any bookings made through our Website/App due to operational needs, instructor availability, or unforeseen circumstances (see Paragraph 8.6).
We may also modify or enhance Website/App Services to improve your experience or comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Where possible, we will provide advance notice of any significant changes to bookings or services.
If You Are Not Satisfied with Changes
If you are unhappy with any changes—whether to your booking, the Website/App Services, or the terms of this Agreement—you are entitled to cancel your affected booking(s).
You may request a refund for any prepaid lessons or services that have not yet been delivered.
Please contact our customer support team if you wish to cancel due to a change or if you have any questions. We’re here to help resolve your concerns promptly and fairly.
Your Rights to Terminate This Agreement
General Right to Terminate
You may terminate your Agreement with Lessonnow at any time. Your specific rights will depend on the nature of the services provided, our performance, and the timing of your cancellation:

If some services have already been provided, a partial refund may apply (see Paragraph 11.6).
You may cancel the Agreement immediately and receive a full refund for any unused services if:
• Unapproved Changes
You do not agree with a change to our terms or services (see Paragraph 10).

You were informed of an error in pricing or service description and choose not to proceed.

• Breach of Legal Obligation
You have a legal right to terminate due to a breach on our part.
Exercising Your Consumer Rights (Cooling-Off Period)
As a consumer, you may cancel this Agreement within 14 calendar days of entering it (typically when you first book or pay for lessons). You will receive a full refund unless services have already begun.
Start of the Cooling-Off Period
The cooling-off period begins when you make your first booking or payment via our Website or App. This marks the start of the Agreement.
Limitations to Changing Your Mind
You cannot cancel or request a refund for services that have already been delivered, even if you are still within the 7-day cancellation window.
If you cancel during the 14-day period:
• Refunds will be processed using the same payment method you used at the time of booking.
• Refunds are typically issued within 10 working days of receiving your cancellation notice.
• We reserve the right to deduct a proportionate amount for any services already delivered, and this will be clearly communicated to you.
Our Rights to End This Agreement
Grounds for Termination
We reserve the right to terminate this Agreement with immediate effect by providing written notice if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Specifically, we may end this Agreement if:
• Non-Payment:
You do not make a payment when it is due, and you fail to pay within 7 days after we have reminded you of the overdue amount.
• Failure to Provide Required Information:
You do not provide the necessary information we request within a reasonable timeframe, preventing us from delivering the Website/App Services properly.
• Breach of Agreement:
You breach any other obligations under this Agreement that negatively affect our ability to carry out our services or impact other users.
Consequences of Termination
If we terminate this Agreement for any of the reasons listed above:
• We will refund any pre-paid lesson fees for services not yet provided.
• However, we reserve the right to deduct reasonable costs from your refund to cover losses we may have incurred due to your breach of the Agreement.
• These deductions will be calculated fairly and transparently, and we will provide a breakdown upon request.
Non-Transferable Nature of Lessons
All driving lessons purchased through the LESSONNOW Website/App are strictly non-transferable. This means that:
• Lessons or pre-paid tuition credits cannot be sold, gifted, or assigned to any other person.
• Each lesson or block of lessons is uniquely tied to the original purchaser, ensuring personalised service and consistency in training.
Purpose of This Policy
This policy exists to:
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of our scheduling systems.
• Ensure that instructors can deliver instruction tailored to the individual learner’s progress and needs.
• Prevent misuse or misrepresentation of our services.
Unable to Attend?
If you are unable to attend a scheduled lesson:
• Please refer to Paragraph 8 (Changes to Bookings) to explore cancellation or rescheduling options.
• Attempting to transfer your lesson to someone else is not permitted and may result in the forfeiture of the session without a refund.
Fraud Prevention
Valid Lessons Only Through Approved Channels
To protect both pupils and instructors, driving lessons are considered valid only when purchased through the approved methods detailed in Paragraph 5.5 of this Agreement.
• Purchases must be made via the LESSONNOW Website or App using our authorised third-party payment platform.
• If you suspect that any of your lessons were not purchased through our official platform, please contact us immediately via our Live Chat for support and resolution.
We reserve the right to suspend or cancel any lessons that:
• Have not been paid for in accordance with this Agreement, or
• Appear to have been obtained through unauthorised or fraudulent methods.
In such cases:
• Neither LESSONNOW nor your instructor will accept responsibility or liability for these invalid lessons.
• You may be denied access to these lessons without prior notice.
Ensuring a Secure Learning Experience
This policy is in place to:
• Protect the financial integrity of all users and instructors.
• Prevent fraudulent activity and misuse of our platform.
• Ensure a consistent and uninterrupted learning experience for all genuine pupils.
We strongly encourage all users to book and manage lessons only through official LESSONNOW channels.
Our Responsibility for Loss and Damage
General Limitations of Liability
While we strive to provide a high-quality and reliable service, there are limitations to our liability. Neither Lessonnow Limited nor any affiliated party shall be held responsible for certain categories of loss or damage, including but not limited to:
Losses Arising from Driving Tuition
We only provide Website/App Services and act as an agent for your instructor. We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or dissatisfaction resulting from the actual driving tuition, as this is governed by a separate agreement between you and your instructor.
Unforeseeable Loss or Damage
We are not liable for any losses that were not foreseeable. A loss or damage is considered unforeseeable if it was not obvious that it would occur or if nothing you told us before booking suggested we should have anticipated it.
Losses Caused by Delays Outside Our Control
As long as we take reasonable steps as outlined in Paragraph 4.7, we are not responsible for losses caused by delays due to circumstances beyond our control.
We are not liable for losses that were caused by your own actions or that could have been avoided if you had followed our reasonable guidance and instructions relating to the use of our Website/App Services.
Business-Related Losses
Our services are intended for personal, non-commercial use. Therefore, we are not responsible for any losses related to business interests, including (but not limited to):
• Loss of revenue or profit
• Loss of business opportunities
• Business interruption
• Loss of anticipated savings
• Loss of goodwill or reputation
These exclusions apply regardless of whether the loss arises in contract, tort (including negligence), or breach of statutory duty.
Where We Do Not Limit or Exclude Our Liability
We do not seek to limit or exclude our liability in situations where doing so would be unlawful. This includes (but is not limited to) liability for:
• Death or personal injury caused by our negligence or that of our employees, agents, or subcontractors
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• Any matter for which it would be unlawful to exclude or restrict our liability
Limitation of Our Liability
Subject to the exclusions and conditions outlined in Paragraphs 15.1 and 15.2, the maximum liability that either we (or Lessonnow) will accept for any loss or damage under this Agreement is limited to the greater of:
• £3,000, or
• The total amount of Fees you have paid to us under this Agreement.
Consumer Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Agreement is intended to affect or limit your statutory rights as a consumer. These rights are protected by law and remain fully in force regardless of the terms of this Agreement.
Your instructor is required to maintain a comprehensive motor insurance policy that specifically covers learner drivers during instructional sessions. This insurance:
• Applies exclusively to the instructor’s tuition vehicle;• Covers you while you are behind the wheel during your lessons; and
• Protects you against liability for damage or injury in the event of a collision or accident occurring during a driving lesson.
This coverage ensures that you can concentrate on learning to drive with confidence, knowing you are protected from the financial consequences of accidental damage or incidents during instruction.
While this insurance provides essential protection, it remains your responsibility to exercise caution and adhere to all driving safety guidance provided by your instructor. Being aware of this coverage reinforces the importance of responsible behaviour throughout your learning experience.
Short Notice Test Package
What is a Short Notice Test?
A Short Notice Test refers to a practical driving test scheduled with two weeks or less remaining between the date of your first planned driving lesson and your DVSA test date. This compressed timeframe requires focused, intensive preparation to ensure you are adequately prepared.
What’s Included in a Short Notice Test Package?
Our Short Notice Test Package is designed to provide targeted support under time constraints and includes a minimum of five (5) hours of driving instruction and vehicle use, broken down as follows:
• 2-hour driving assessment – to evaluate your current driving skills and test readiness.
• 3 hours of focused test preparation – covering practical test elements and familiarisation with local test routes.
A full upfront payment for all five hours is required at the time of booking.
Should you require additional tuition beyond the included five hours, this will be charged at your instructor’s standard hourly rate plus an additional £10 per hour to account for the urgency of the booking.
If you do not pass your test, any additional driving lessons required will be charged at the instructor’s standard hourly tuition rate (without the urgency premium, unless another short notice test is scheduled).
Cancelling a Short Notice Test Package
To cancel a short notice package, you must give your instructor at least 48 hours’ notice. Failure to do so may result in loss of fees as outlined in Paragraph 8 (Changes to Bookings) and Paragraph 9 (Refunds). Please communicate cancellations promptly to avoid unnecessary charges.
Initial Assessment Requirement
Your short notice package begins with a mandatory 2-hour assessment. If your instructor determines during this session that you are not ready for the test, they reserve the right not to proceed with the remaining package. In this case, your instructor will:
• Provide a detailed explanation of areas needing improvement;
• Recommend further tuition as needed (charged separately at the standard rate);
• Not be obligated to take you to the test if they believe you’re not adequately prepared.
DVSA Test Rescheduling Responsibilities
Per DVSA regulations, a minimum of three clear working days’ notice is required to reschedule or cancel a driving test without losing your test fee. If your instructor advises against proceeding after the initial assessment and your test cannot be cancelled in time, neither we nor your instructor will be held liable for the forfeiture of the DVSA test fee.
Applying Unused Pre-Paid Tuition
If you decide to reschedule your test to a later date, any unused pre-paid lesson hours from the short notice package can be redeemed towards future tuition. This flexibility helps ensure your learning continues and your progress is not disrupted.

Speaking to Your Instructor
If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback about your lessons or experience, we encourage you to speak directly with your instructor. They are your primary point of contact and are best placed to address most issues related to your driving tuition.
If you experience any problems—whether related to lesson content, teaching methods, or the learning environment—please discuss these openly with your instructor. They can often resolve issues quickly and effectively.
In the event of any problem specifically related to your driving tuition, we recommend that you pause taking further lessons with that instructor until the matter is resolved, as the driving tuition is provided under a separate contract between you and your instructor.
If the issue cannot be resolved through direct communication, your instructor will guide you on how to escalate your concern to our administrative or customer care teams.

This advance notice helps us manage our schedules effectively and allows other students the opportunity to book available lesson times.

Thank you for your support!
When you take driving lessons with our qualified instructors, please be aware of our practical driving test policies.
Before your test day, your instructor will assess your driving skills to ensure you meet the required standards. If, on the day of your test, your instructor determines that your driving is not yet up to the necessary standard, they have the right to refuse to use their vehicle for the test. In such cases, you will need to arrange an alternative vehicle—either by borrowing one from someone else or by scheduling another lesson with a different instructor.
We are committed to your success and prioritize safety and competence. Being fully prepared before your driving test is essential. If you have any questions or require additional support during your lessons, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
To secure your lessons, full payment must be made in advance. Please note that all purchased lessons must be used within three months from the date of payment. Any lessons remaining unused after this period will expire and will not be eligible for a refund.
Additionally, lessons purchased in packages of 2, to 30 are non-refundable. We encourage you to schedule and complete your lessons within the specified timeframe to maximize the value of your investment.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
We encourage you to contact our office directly if you have any complaints or concerns. Please provide specific details about your issue so we can fully understand and address it effectively.

Your feedback is important to us, and we appreciate your patience as we work toward a satisfactory solution.
LESSONNOW LTD operates under the trading name LESSONNOW and, for the purposes of these terms of business, will be referred to simply as LESSONNOW.
LESSONNOW works in partnership with a network of franchised driving instructors and independent contractors who are self-employed franchisees, operating under formal franchise agreements with LESSONNOW.
Please note that your contract for driving tuition is exclusively between you and your assigned instructor. Consequently, all matters relating to lessons, payments, and any other inquiries should be addressed directly with your instructor.
This structure allows LESSONNOW to maintain consistent, high-quality driving education while giving instructors the flexibility to manage their own businesses. We remain committed to supporting both our instructors and students to ensure a positive and effective learning experience.
To participate in driving lessons, you must meet the following requirements:
1. Age Requirements
• You must be at least 17 years old to take driving lessons.
• If you have a disability, you may begin lessons at age 16.
2. Driving Licence
• You must hold a valid UK driving licence, which can be a provisional licence, a full driving licence, or an appropriate foreign driving licence recognised in the UK.
As part of the assessment, you must pass an eyesight test. This requires reading vehicle number plates from specified distances:
• New-Style Number Plates: 27 meters (approximately 88.6 feet)
• Old-Style Number Plates: 27.5 meters (approximately 90.2 feet)
Note: New-style number plates generally consist of two letters followed by two numbers (e.g., AB12 CDE).
Please be aware that failing this eyesight test will result in an automatic failure of the overall driving instructor assessment.
Before your first driving lesson, you must provide your instructor with proof of a valid driving licence. This is essential to confirm that you are legally permitted to drive.
If you fail to present this documentation, your instructor has the right to refuse to conduct the lesson. Please note that in such cases, you may still be liable for a lesson fee corresponding to the duration of the booking or the minimum lesson charge as specified.
